An Indian wedding always means an incredible amount of love, community, and an explosion of colors. And to have all of this in one of Spain’s most beautiful cities—an absolute dream.
It was an incredible honor for us to document this three-day wedding filled with love and life. Nikkita and Rishi had a special place in our hearts from the very first meeting, and we could hardly wait to celebrate these precious moments with two people who are so wonderfully warm and humorous.
Sangeet
The wedding weekend began on a hot Friday in August with the Sangeet, a pre-wedding celebration that marks the start of the wedding festivities in Indian tradition.
Nikkita and Rishi celebrated this special event together. First, the women gathered, creating a breathtaking sight with their colorful and intricately crafted outfits. After a brief reception, Nikkita arrived, radiant and beautiful in her attire, and the women all joined in singing together.
There was also an opportunity to have henna applied to their hands, adding a traditional touch to the festivities.
Soon after, the rest of the guests arrived, and amidst incredible food and drinks, moving speeches were given, touching everyone’s hearts and ending in thunderous applause. Then came the moment everyone had been waiting for: the Jago entrance of the bride and groom with their families and friends, which culminated in a massive dance where everyone was on the dance floor. The night was filled with dancing—lively, carefree, and joyful moves that were a true celebration of life and love.
Haldi
And right on Saturday, the celebrations continued, filled with love, connection, and joy.
Nikkita and Rishi chose to have their Haldi ceremony during a boat ride on the Guadalquivir, the river that flows through Seville. On the way there, we used the opportunity for a 30-minute photo session in the heart of Seville, capturing the grandeur of its impressive architecture.
Once aboard the boat, Nikkita and Rishi changed into their light and colorful attire for the ceremony, which is meant to purify them before the wedding. During the Haldi ceremony, a paste made from turmeric is applied by family members to the bride and groom’s legs and arms, intended to cleanse them and ward off evil spirits. It was truly a spiritual experience, with an atmosphere filled with positivity and joy.
Wedding day – hindu ceremony
GETTING READY
And now, the highlight of the festivities had arrived—the wedding day, featuring a beautiful Hindu ceremony. Nikkita and Rishi each began the day separately with their getting ready. From stunning stationery and intricate details to personal letters they exchanged through us, the process of becoming bride and groom was celebrated to the fullest, all while enjoying a breathtaking view over Seville from their hotel.
And when Nikkita finally put on her lehenga and adorned herself with all her jewelry, the magic in the room was almost tangible.
BARAAT
This part of the Indian wedding was full of joy and excitement, with the spotlight on the groom.
Rishi made his entrance with his Baraat into the venue, Hacienda de la Soledad in Seville, accompanied by his family and drummers. It was the perfect way to set the atmosphere alight, and Rishi and his family were then welcomed by Nikkita’s father and her family.
Being witness to such incredible, boundless joy and this deep connection meant the world to us
CEREMONY
Then the moment had finally come, and the ceremony began.
Countless rituals and intricate details were performed, creating a feast for the senses and the eyes. For us, as lovers of details and emotions, it was the greatest joy. Every small movement, every little stone carried meaning, culminating in the rounds Nikkita and Rishi made around the sacred fire.
You could feel the radiance of the stunning bride Nikkita in every fiber, and it ignited everyone present. An Indian wedding ceremony isn’t just about the couple—it celebrates connection, unity, and family love, and that love was truly palpable in the air.
We are incredibly grateful to have witnessed this and to have captured every candid moment and detail in this beautiful setting of Seville at the stunning Hacienda de la Soledad.
COCKTAILS, COCKTAILS, COCKTAILS
After the ceremony, it was time for beautifully crafted personalized cocktails and a lively day-party to the fantastic music of a Flamenco band, perfectly setting the mood for the upcoming festivities. As the sun set, everyone enjoyed great food, delicious drinks, and incredible music infused with Spanish vibes.
With Rishi having spent time living in Spain, those Spanish touches at the gorgeous Hacienda de la Soledad were definitely well thought out and embraced to the fullest.
NEWLYWEDS COUPLESHOOTING
And of course, we couldn’t let the stunning Spanish sunset pass without capturing it in a brief couple’s shoot. Since Nikkita and Rishi prioritized candid moments and a documentary approach for their wedding, we only took about 15-20 minutes to capture the love between them in an intimate and meaningful session.
This short yet powerful session under the warm hues of the Spanish sky was a beautiful way to savor the love and connection between the couple, keeping everything genuine and effortless.
DINNER
One of the greatest passions when capturing weddings, aside from all the love and the big and small moments shared between the couple and their loved ones, is to also capture the surroundings, the vibe, and the intricate details.
This means capturing stunning drone shots of the breathtaking venue that the couple chose for their destination wedding, as well as every beautiful detail of the dinner setting.
With this in mind, Nikkita and Rishi made their entrance to dinner with an overwhelming and joyous reception that was filled with cheers. They began the evening by cutting their wedding cake, a perfect start to a night filled with heartfelt moments, including touching speeches from the couple’s loved ones.
FIRST DANCE & PARTY
After a wonderful dinner, Nikkita and Rishi took to the dance floor with a beautiful and emotional first dance, cheered on enthusiastically by their family and friends.
And what can I say? It was probably one of the most electrifying dance parties we’ve had the pleasure of capturing. Those who know me know that I love being right in the middle of the dance floor, immersing myself in the vibe and capturing those emotions as close as possible.
And what an incredible vibe and joy it was!
Thank you, Nikkita and Rishi, for letting us witness this!
